3 Year Warranty
Hyundai are supplying a three year platinum warranty with this model which is fantastic for peace of mind. Even at a good entry level price this is still a considerable investment into a piece of equipment. One thing to be aware of is that you need to active the warranty at Hyundai Power Tools once you have made the purchase. Many people looking to upgrade to a petrol pressure washer will probably have had some bad experiences with electric models not lasting so this could give you the extra bit of comfort you need to spend that bit extra.
Detergent Tank
Neatly tucked into the frame is a 3 litre detergent tank that allows you to cover the cleaning surface is soap to assist with the removal of grime. Really useful if you are cleaning a lot of vehicles. Not all models have this so well worth checking.
Quick Release Nozzles
Attached to the top of the frame are 4 nozzles that are fast to change which alter the angle of the cleaning spray. From a very narrow high power jet to a wide fan for bigger areas that need rinsing. A great option and easy to access as you may need to quickly change a nozzle if you come across a tough bit of dirt that needs to be shifted.
Max 2800 PSI (193 Bar)
The max pressure of 2800 psi is a lot of cleaning power that will clean most domestic areas with no issues. There are more powerful pressure washers on the market but they are more expensive and have a number of trade offs. The more powerful models are generally more expensive and heavier as they have bigger engines and have larger dimensions making them harder to store. When considering the max pressure you need make sure you take into account these factors.
If you have some very tough marks, paint or other grime to remove then it might be worth looking at a more powerful model.
The flow rate of 8.75 litres per minute also delivers plenty of water for rinsing while you are cleaning. These two factors combined give you a very effective jet washer.
The 210cc Engine
The Hyundai IC210 engine is a 210cc unit that delivers plenty of torque for most cleaning jobs. If you are going to be running it all day long on commercial jobs it may be better to look at a more powerful engine. Starting it up is nice and easy with a standard recoil start system. Just pull the cord and it should fire up with very little problems. The 4 stroke engine takes normal unleaded fuel. one of the big plus’s for the Hyundai range is their reputation for building great power tool engines.
Portability
In terms of portability this is not a bad option. It weighs around 32 kilos which is a good bit lighter than than the HYW3100P2 at 38 kilos. This is going to be noticeable if you have to lift it up and down stairs or ledges. It has big wheels which are ideal for soaking up the lumps and bumps. The HYW3100P2 has pneumatic tyres which are a lot better for very rough ground but for standard cleaning tasks around the home these wheels should be fine. If you have some very awkward ground then pneumatic tyres could be for you.
Stainless Steel Annovi Reverberi Pump
This pump is ample for the job but is not as high quality or robust as some of the models that have brass pumps. Again there is a price to pay for going for a higher quality pump. But for domestic use this should be fine.
7.5 Metre Hose
The hose is not a bad length and will tackle a wide area, however, there are models with much longer hoses on the market. If you are working a long way from the unit for long periods of time you can buy an extension to the hose or look at a different model.
A lance is supplied with the hose to attach the nozzles. A snow foam spraying lance is available if needed, it would be nice to have this included as this model comes with a detergent tank especially for car washing.
Conclusion
Summing it up, this is a good all rounder and competitively priced when looking at the brands like Wilks that are great value. I think a combination of the Hyundai reputation, cost and a three year warranty make this a great buy for domestic users. The features are comprehensive for this model, the only two things it would benefit from are a longer hose and a foam spray nozzle or lance included.
