At the higher end of the price range of the pressure washers we have reviewed is the Honda GP 200 petrol pressure washer. A lot of people absolutely swear by Honda pressure washers and for very good reason. Not only is the performance great, the build quality is second to none, all components are high quality and the engines are legendary for their reliability.
For those of us that are heavy users of our pressure washers or just want to buy a model that will last a long time and is easy to fix, then Honda is a great option to consider. The initial outlay will be higher, but in the long term you may end up saving yourself money.
This is a heavy pressure washer, weighing in at 42 kilos. Not one for those that are looking to lift it up and down to awkward places like boats but perfect in tough conditions like on the farm.

The Features
The Honda GP 200 pressure washer features are pretty impressive. With a lot of the features, Honda offer that extra bit of quality that can make all of the difference. Have a read and see if they fit what you are looking for.
Spare Parts and Servicing
I’m not sure if this is actually a feature but it is certainly a big benefit of this model. Honda pressure washers and the GP200 engines are widely used and spare parts are easy to get hold of. The Honda engines are used in a wide range of power tools all over the world, this means service centres are very used to working on them and can easily source anything necessary to get you back up and running quickly. It is more than likely that the engineers will have fixed a similar issue to yours before.
With some of the cheaper models it is much harder to buy parts or find service centres that can work on them. What might seem like a cheap deal in the early days can end up being costly and time consuming if you need you have some problems that need fixing.
3 Year Warranty
The quality of the GP200 is backed up with a 3 year Honda warranty for peace of mind. This is a warranty worth having as there are so many service centres available. With a lot of smaller brands you have to send back the washer and have a long wait. This is less likely to happen with a brand like Honda.
The 6.5hp GP 200 Engine
This is a very reliable and powerful engine. The 4 stroke OHV petrol engine supplies plenty of power to support long periods of cleaning at a high pressure. These engines are relatively quiet compared to some of the cheaper models, this makes a big difference if you are stood next to it all day. Petrol pressure washers run at high revs during cleaning and can be extremely noisy.
There is also a low oil detector on the engine, if the oil level is getting low the engine will cut out until it is refilled. This could save you a lot of money in new engines!
5 Quick Release Nozzles
This model is supplied with 5 quick release nozzles which are for varying types of cleaning. From a high power narrow cleaning jet to a wider jet for faster cleaning of wider areas. Definitely a great feature making switching between nozzles easy, especially if you are cleaning big areas with small bits of concentrated grime.
Max 3000 PSI (206 Bar)
This is a very powerful cleaner giving out a whopping pressure of 3000 psi. This going to clean most things that are thrown at it in a commercial or domestic environment. The quality pump and engine can produce this high pressure for long periods making it a very powerful jet washer indeed.
Portability
In terms of portability there are some nice touches on this model that make it easy to manoeuvre. The 10 inch wheels are supplied with pneumatic tyres making it feel a lot lighter than it really is. Use a lower pressure to soak up the bumps on a rough surface or higher pressure to make if feel super light on a smooth surface. If you are moving it around a lot this is a big improvement compared to the plastic wheels on some cheaper models like the Wilks range.
Axial Pump
The axial pump is fitted with a brass head and designed to withstand high pressure and long term use. The thermal relief valve are supplied to stop the pump from over heating and causing unnecessary damage. It is important to have a high quality pump coupled with a strong engine to deliver long term durability. They both need to be able to cope with the high pressure.
10 Metre Hose
This is a long hose compared to the ones supplied with the Hyundai models, making it easy to work a long way from the unit out of the box. The hose is hydraulic quality not plastic, with stainless steel couplings, again designed for heavy use.
Longer hoses are available if needed but for most users 10 metres will be long enough.
The Frame
The robust frame is simple and effective. It is designed to allow easy access to the engine and pump for easy servicing and looks neat and tidy at the some time. There are hooks for the gun and the hose to sit near the handle for easy storage.
Conclusion
In conclusion, we highly recommend the Honda GP200 jet washer. It is very powerful and robust and all of the parts are high quality with heavy use in mind. Not the cheapest in initial outlay but servicing and fixing is easy and will save money over a long period of time.
There are a couple of things we would like to see on this model like a detergent bottle and turbo nozzle which do feature on other models which is very handy for vehicles. If you have the budget then this is a great washer that will last you a long time
