The pressure washer lance is the pipe that comes out of the gun you hold, allowing more precise aim towards whatever you’re cleaning. Typically, the lances are constructed from metal or plastic, both being sturdy so that you have maximum control over your aim to blast grime away.

Types Of Lances
We’ll go into a lot more detail on this in a future page, but for now it’s worth mentioning that there are several varieties of lance that you can buy, including telescopic lances for times where you need an extendible pipe for reaching further but with accuracy.
There’s also single and dual lances too, which allow you to configure different pressures with a valve to be more flexible when cleaning more delicate areas and avoid the need to keep swapping the parts over. Some people call the latter type double lances, so just be aware that the terms are used interchangeably.
Lance And Gun Sets
It’s also common to see parts sold in sets, and the lance and gun set is a regular one you’ll find to buy. Quite simply, you get a complete set of parts to fit to your pressure washer hose rather than buying them individually. If you’ve got a new pressure washer and need it all then it can be a cheaper way to buy, but if you’re just replacing a worn or damaged lance it may not appeal so much.
Lance Brands
Like the pressure washers themselves, there’s a lot of brands offering lances and sets to buy, and many of them use universal connectors, so mix and match tends to work fine. With that said, if you’ve got a well know brand of machine, you’ll likely want a good quality hose, gun, trigger, lance and nozzle too, so that you don’t have any weak links in your kit.
